When it comes to making tagless garments, pad and screen printing with SB ink has a number of benefits over heat transfer: . While heat transfer just puts markings on the garment's surface, SB ink penetrates and saturates textile thus extending the life of the printed tag. SB ink is very durable even when used as a 1 component ink; with hardener, it will withstand copious industrial washings. . With heat transfer, labels usually have to be purchased by thousands, which elevates production costs and sometimes results in a bulk of unused supplies. With pad printing, there are no preordered labels; each printed tag costs a fraction of a cent and can be easily modified in-house at any time, enabling cost-effective production - both long and short run. . SB is easy to process, it cures by air and dries very fast, enabling the operator to pile items one on another right after they are printed.
Sapphire SB series has been used in Europe as textile ink and ink for tagless garments for many years. It is safe for children, complies with European EN 71 Toy Safety standard and California Proposition 65. Among other applications of SB ink is printing on stress balls, rubberized pens, soft touch travel mugs, koozies, can coolers, simulated leather and vinyl items as well as other flexible or coated products.
As all Sapphire series, SB is available in 21 standard color shades that yield bright images. For very dark textiles black and white high density colors are offered. A twelve color mixing system and free formulation guide is available for the generation of Pantone colors.
